Digital Fingerprint
Our digital fingerprinting service in Edmonton uses live-scan technology to capture your fingerprints electronically, without ink or paper fingerprint cards. Conveniently located inside West Edmonton Mall, our RCMP-accredited office submits your fingerprints and application details electronically to the Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) for processing.
The RCMP compares your fingerprints against the National Repository of Criminal Records to process your certified criminal record check. The results indicate whether a matching criminal record was identified, and the RCMP discloses information according to the application type and applicable requirements.

Ink and Roll Fingerprint
Need paper fingerprints for an overseas police clearance or background check? Our ink-and-roll fingerprinting service at West Edmonton Mall provides fingerprints on paper cards for submission to foreign authorities that require this format.
Ink fingerprinting may be required for international employment, immigration, visas, or other background checks. Requirements vary by country and receiving organization. Before your appointment, confirm the accepted fingerprint form, identification requirements, and submission instructions with the requesting authority. Bring any required forms and instructions.
Important: Paper fingerprint cards should not be mailed directly to the RCMP’s Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS). If you use paper fingerprints for a Canadian certified criminal record check, an RCMP-accredited company must convert them to digital format and submit them electronically.

Prepare for your appointment at our RCMP-accredited fingerprinting office in West Edmonton Mall by bringing:
Any instructions or request letter you received for your fingerprinting or background check, including required forms or reference numbers.
Two valid pieces of government-issued identification, including at least one photo ID.
Identification may include a passport, driver’s licence, birth certificate, Canadian citizenship card or certificate, permanent resident card, Certificate of Indian Status, immigration documents, Military Family ID, NEXUS card, federal government employee ID, or provincial health care card. Acceptance depends on the document and the requirements of your application.
